The VR-CUBE at PDC

This page contains pictures from the construction of the PDC VR-CUBE.

Unless otherwise stated, all pictures taken by Thomas Asplund.

How we did it.

  • Take big room with junk

  • Throw junk away

  • The ceiling should be high enough

  • Raise a steady substructure

The VR-CUBE is constructed by TAN Projektionstechnologie

  • Yes, it seems to be a strong foundation

  • Big wooden puzzle in 3D

  • The door, supported by wooden hinges is set in place for the first time

  • Door inspection

  • Projectors covered during construction

  • One of the foil mirrors is fitted into its frame (there are two people on this picture...)

  • The glass floor has been delivered - everyone has to help

  • Not a millimeter to spare.

  • Sliding the floor into place (lots of people behind the glass...)

  • Sewing the projection walls

  • The canvas seems to be slacking a little...

  • We need a computer or two as well

  • Careful!

  • Nearly finished

  • At last we can start testing (candy bags take a central position :-)

  • Adjusting the projectors

  • Don't tell anyone, but Yoda has been sighted in crayoland
